We just got this handsome Collings D1G-SB; they liked it so much that they featured it in their latest company e-mail release! Here’s what they have to say about it: “Based on our popular workhorse D1 model, this custom example is adorned with our “1-style” sunburst finish and a stunning abalone “Torch” inlay in the peghead. Another noteworthy addition is the use of European Spruce for the soundboard (also commonly referred to as German spruce). Praised for its clarity and lively attack, we find that European spruce also tends to offer rich overtones and harmonic complexity which complements the balanced, full-bodied tones of mahogany beautifully!
