Hours & Directions

From Boston (2.5 hours):

Drive west on Rt. 2 or the Mass Pike.  Go north on 91. Take Exit 1 in Vermont and go right onto US-5 N/Canal Street.  Follow into town and take a left on Elliot Street. 3rd traffic light once you hit downtown.  We’re  one block up on the right hand side and the parking lot is just beyond our store on the right. Be sure to buy a parking ticket in the center of the lot and put it on your dashboard. They ticket faster than the speed of light in this town.

From New York City (3.5 hours):

Take I-95 North or some other road to 91 North. Drive through Connecticut and Massachusetts; we are the first exit in Vermont. See above.

From Portland Maine (4.5 hours):

Well as they say in New England, you can’t get there from here. Come west through New Hampshire on Rt. 9. After you drive, kayak, or swim across the Connecticut River you are in Vermont. Go 3/4 around the rotary and head south on Rt. 5 to downtown Brattleboro  (3 or 4 miles?). At the second downtown traffic light, go right on Elliot St. You will drive by Maple Leaf on your right; the next turn is into the Harmony Parking lot behind the store. You can also take Rt. 2 West through northern Massachusetts and go north on 91.  If you have instruments feel free to park for a few minutes on the brick sidewalk behind Everyone’s Books. You will be looking right at our back door. Just ring the bell or if it’s summer waltz right in. You’ve got 20 minutes free for deliveries. If you stay longer than that they Could Take You to Jail.

From Montreal (3.5 hours):

Cross the border at Highgate Vt. Don’t forget your passaporta.  Find Burlington. Drive there. Go south on Rt. 89. Do not go as far as New Hampshire, but get off 89 and go south on 91 to Brattleboro. Take Exit 2 east on Rt. 9 which is Western Ave. which turns into High Street. Just before High Street T’s into Main, go right under the arch between 2 brick buildings and voila! you are now in the Harmony Parking lot just behind the store. Buy a ticket in the kiosk in the middle of the lot and put it on your dashboard.

From Albany New York (4.5 hours):

Come east from Albany; Vermont Rt. 9 through Bennington and Wilmington is scenic but can be slow if you get behind a truck or a snow plow. The Mass Pike east to Rt 91 north is longer but about the same amount of time as Rt. 9. If you take 9, it turns into High St. in Brattleboro. Just before you get to the T at Main Street, stay in the right hand lane and look for a right hand turn under an arch between two brick buildings. There should be a parking sign there. You will get spit into the Harmony Lot just behind the store and miss two traffic lights. If you take 91 North, follow the directions above.
