This Collings UT2K koa tenor uke was special ordered by a happy camper in Montana. Collings sent us under-construction photos, which I thought for a change would be just as interesting as formal finished shots. Variety is the spice of life! We loved this uke so much that we have both a tenor and a concert in Koa with ivoroid binding and the very traditional rope purfuling on order for spring of this year 2012.

This past year I worked with Kate and Christian in the selection of a custom built Collings Tenor Koa Ukulele. Though I am from Montana, and have yet to meet these two people in person, I was impressed with their knowledge and willingness to assist me. They always took the time to answer my emails and calls as I worked through the decision making process. Though I spoke with other local, and national, sellers I never got the feeling that they were interested in my business – Kate and Christian made me feel welcome to ask even the most basic questions. Christian’s uke playing clips on the website captured my attention and they sent pictures of my uke being built down in Texas. They continue to follow-up with me on my questions on uke care and maintenance providing that after sales service that is often lacking in other businesses. I look forward to buying another custom Collings Tenor uke from them in the near future. Maple Leaf Music is a wonderful group of people to work with – please give them a try – they are worth it.
