Honduran Rosewood: Dalbergia stevensonii

Honduran Rosewood grows only in Belize (British Honduras). It is mostly straight grained with a medium to fine texture; the color ranges from a pinkish to purple-brown with irregular black markings and alternating dark and lights that form an attractive figure. Denser than Indian, Honduran rosewood is a great sounding wood with more brightness and treble than the Indian. Huss and Dalton and Bourgeois both specialize in really beautiful Honduran guitars.
